Lockwood lover

Ah, the classic Kiwi Lockwood - cosy, solid, full of charm… and full of so much timber.

Our client was ready to trade dark and woody for light and airy - something a little more 2025 and a little less 1975.

So I rolled up my sleeves and got to work. A few clever tweaks, a fresh coat (or three), and just the right touch of modern style.

Now it’s fresh, open, and still 100% Lockwood at heart - just with a little less 'log cabin' and a lot more 'wow'.

New fence, new vibe

What do you do when your backyard view is more overgrown jungle than relaxing retreat? You build a fence—and not just any fence.

Our client needed a clean, solid boundary to block out the chaos next door and bring some peace (and privacy) back to their outdoor space. With a sloping hill to work with, it wasn’t exactly a walk in the park—but we were up for the challenge.

The result -  a sleek, sturdy fence that not only defines the space but transforms it.

Client’s words: "Now we can finally enjoy the backyard without feeling like we’re in someone else’s!”

Yard spruce-up

This home had great bones, but the front yard needed some thought. With an awkward sloping section, an overgrown garden bed, and untidy edges, it lacked both function and curb appeal.

We started by clearing out the wild garden bed and replacing it with clean, crisp edging to give the space a more polished look. Overgrown shrubs were removed, making room for sleek garden screens that not only tidied things up but added some much needed privacy.

Lastly, we needed to find a home for the rubbish bins. The only available spot was on a tricky slope, so we got creative and built a custom platform - sturdy, level, and practical.

The end result - a front yard that’s functional, welcoming, and finally does the home justice. And yep, it looks fantastic too.

The great kiwi deck

This cosy Matua home had plenty of charm indoors, but the outdoor space was crying out for some warmth and character. Stretching along the entire northern side of the property was a massive concrete slab - functional, sure, but far from inviting.

We brought it to life with a stunning 90 square-metre Kwila deck, creating a seamless transition between the home and the on-site business premises. The natural tones of the Kwilia decking not only softened the hardscape but also added a true sense of Kiwi outdoor living.

The result - a transformed space that’s practical, welcoming, and perfect for everything from morning coffees to after-work catch-ups. It’s fair to say this deck has totally elevated this family’s home.

Work-from-home kitchen upgrade

Small businesses are the heartbeat of our communities — and this local catering crew is no exception.

Born out of necessity during the pandemic, they set up shop in a small home-based kitchen and haven’t looked back since. Four years on, it was time to double the space and create a kitchen that could keep up with demand.

We managed the entire project from start to finish — shifting existing garden sheds, prepping the site, coordinating the delivery of the new commercial kitchen, and finishing it all off with a deck and roof that ties it together beautifully.

The result - a functional, well-organised kitchen space with better flow, more storage, and clearly defined work zones. No more bumping elbows — and definitely no more too many cooks in the kitchen!
